• The sending phone then performs an HTTP post to a Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) of the MMS message encoding in the MMS Encapsulation Protocol as described  by the Open Mobile Alliance
• The encoded message includes all of the content, along with header information that comprises a list of recipients for the MMS
• The MMSC then receives the submitted content of the message and confirms the sender of the message
• The MMSC collects the message information and builds a URL link that is potentially generated
• The MMSC generates a notification message, which is sent via WAP Push over SMS to the recipient of the message
• The recipient receives the notification message and instigates a data connection that provides TCP/IP network connectivity
• The recipient phone performs an HTTP GET to recover the message content URL from the MMSC
