The first speaker of Lok Sabha was Shri Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar who is also known as ‘Dadasaheb Mavlankar.’ Amongst the rest of the famous titles given to Ganesh Mavalankar was ‘Father of Lok Sabha’ by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. About Ganesh Vasudev Mavlankar

Ganesha Mavalankar was born on the 27th of November, 1888 at Bardola (Present day Vadodara).

  • His surname Mavalangar was the family name that belonged to a place in the erstwhile State of Bombay, called Ratnagiri District. 
  • In addition, he completed his bachelor’s in Science from the Gujrat College in Ahmedabad.
  • Later on, he completed his law degree in the year 1912.
