Students and other experts from cities and regions around the nation will work together to form a team of specialists to provide advice.

The Australian government has unveiled a “Universities Accord” to develop a long-term strategy for the nation’s higher education sector.

The agreement is viewed as a chance to examine various issues, including funding and access, affordability, transparency, regulation, job circumstances, and how higher education and vocational education and training can and should collaborate.

Students and other experts will work together to form a team that includes a variety of STEM and humanities specialists from cities and regions around the nation to provide advice. The government will deliver a preliminary report in June of the following year, and the final report is expected in December 2023.

The panel will assess the quality and viability of the industry with regard to international students specifically. In addition to promising to support a competitive and resilient global education industry, it will analyze the difficulties that local and foreign students and faculty faced as a result of the epidemic, including both temporary and long-term effects. The significance of overseas students to the national economy will be highlighted in the study.
