The traffic on the Study with New Zealand jumped by 293% between November 2022 and February 2023. A hike in visa application rates for international students was found.

The visa application rates for New Zealand students observed a hike of 98% as compared to 2022. The Study with New Zealand website traffic jumped by 293% between November 2022 and February 2023. Around 75,000 users to 295,000 users in February 2023 contributed to website traffic. 

The New Zealand immigration officials processed 16,000 decisions between November 2022 and  February 2023. Since the border reopened, nearly around 34,000 international students have been holding visas for study in New Zealand. 

The number of visa applications between December 2019 – February 2022 was about two-thirds of the total between December 2022 and February 2023. The number of Indian and Chinese visas approved was lower than from December 2019 to February 2022.

The visa approval rates for students from Vietnam and Malaysia were 17% and 4% higher in the year December 2022 to February 2023 respectively. 

The recovery after the pandemic is underway for international education in New Zealand. The education sector was battered due to prolonged border closures due to the pandemic. The rise in visa application rates and approval rates are trending upwards.

A research body also shows that several international students are eagerly waiting to hear the perspectives of current international students before choosing where to study. Moreover, the website has provided a graph that shows the growth of traffic from different countries. Australia is a significant attraction for students.
