IRCC made changes to IELTS score requirements. Applicable from August on the SDS Permit for study in Canada.

As per, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), IELTS test takers are not required to achieve minimum scores as per guidelines. Student Direct Stream (SDS) programme will now require only an overall 6 band score. The reform will be effective from 10 August.

Students applying through SDS can now solely focus on individual band scores. It is a pathway for students willing to study in Canada. The visa offers faster processing time for students.
