The grant amount varies depending on the course of study and the nationality of the student. 

The Scheme is highly beneficial for students as this can make a difference of 81% (approximately) in the tuition fees students have to pay for a certain course. 

For instance, tuition fees for courses like dentistry can go as high as $154,800 (INR 1.26 Cr) per annum for a student of Singapore Nationality without this tuition grant. However, this can be substantially reduced to $28,900 (INR 23.63 Lakh) for a student hailing from Singapore with a tuition grant.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must meet the following criteria to apply for  MOE Tuition Grant Scheme, Singapore:

  • The student must be pursuing a course for which the grant is offered. The grant is offered for various full-time diploma courses at polytechnics or an undergraduate degree at an autonomous university including (NUS, NTU SMU, etc) or even for art courses institutions including  NAFA, LASELLE 
  • The candidate will be eligible to apply for the grant if they have not taken or received a scholarship or government grant to pursue an educational programme of equal or higher level 
  • Students who are citizens of Singapore will automatically receive Tier A tuition grants as they successfully enrol in polytechnics, universities or art institutions 
  • Permanent residents of Singapore will qualify for Tier B tuition grants as they successfully enrol in their chosen institutions provided that the candidate is required to work for a Singapore organization for 3 years upon graduation
  • International students will qualify for a Tier C tuition grant as they successfully enrol in their chosen institutions. The grant is merit-based and is more competitive to avail due to the limited number of seats. For this as well the candidate is required to work for a Singapore organization for 3 years upon graduation
