This category of scholarships was founded as an academic reward for students with an excellent academic record at the high school level and during the admission process at the University of Manitoba. This scholarship is only available for international students who have successfully secured admission to an undergraduate program at the University of Manitoba. 

University of Manitoba Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students

International students are welcomed by the University of Manitoba to apply for the International Undergraduate Scholarships where they will be offered financial assistance for their academic studies. Students need to have a valid study permit and must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in any school of this university. 

The amount and benefits offered via this scholarship will be determined based on the candidate’s academic record and performance at the university. You will be offered a one-time award annually which will be used as a fee waiver. 

International Student Bursaries

Students who are looking for bursaries at this university need to apply for the University of Manitoba General Bursary via Aurora.

• Applicants must visit the Aurora website at https://aurora.umanitoba.ca/ to apply for the University of Manitoba International Student Bursaries. 
• For the Fall and Winter semesters, the General bursary applications will be available on the Aurora Student Portal in August 2023.
• Applications must be submitted with all the required documents to the Financial Aid and Awards office.
• The last date to submit these applications was 1st October 2023.

*Note – International students who are studying in their first year of post-secondary courses in Canada are not eligible for the general bursary scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be ranked by sessional grade point average. After this, scholarships will be awarded until the funds are exhausted or the grade point system is reached.

• To become eligible for this scholarship, international students must possess a valid study permit and have secured admission to any School or Faculty at the University of Manitoba before 1st March 2023.
• Applicants must have paid their tuition fees before applying for this scholarship.
• Applicants must possess a minimum score of 85% or equivalent at the high school level.
• The General Entrance Scholarships list of this university must approve the marks secured at the high school level.

*Note – Students with all the conditions will be notified by the end of July 2024.

• Before applying for any scholarship at the University of Manitoba, applicants must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility requirements and understand the terms and conditions of the scholarship for which they are applying. 
• To apply for a scholarship at the University of Manitoba, you need to visit the university’s official website at https://umanitoba.ca/financial-aid-and-awards.
• Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button to start your application process.
• If you have received an entrance scholarship, make sure to enrol within 24 credit hours at the website.
• While entering the details in the scholarship application form, you need to provide all the details.
• Once you’ve entered all the details, an official panel will verify all the details.
• Students who have completed their graduation will not have to follow the minimum credit hour system to complete their registration.

*Note – Students who have completed their application process for admission to the University of Manitoba before 1st March 2023 will automatically become eligible for the entrance-based scholarships.
