IELTS Daily Speaking Topic: Describe an Irritating Neighbour of your Locality.

Q- Describe an irritating neighbour of your locality. You should say for how long the person is your neighbour, how he/she behaves with others, explain how annoying the person is, and explain what can be done to reduce his annoying activities.

Ans: As a resident of our neighbourhood for the past five years, I’d like to address a matter concerning a neighbour named Ankit, whose behaviour has become quite bothersome to others. Ankit is known for playing loud music, audible throughout the day and night. Unfortunately, this shows little regard for the peace valued by others in the community. The music, in addition to being loud, is of a genre that many find unpleasant, leading to constant noise pollution that disrupts the daily routines and rest of numerous residents in the area.

Adding to our woes, he often parks his car in a manner that blocks other people’s driveways. Despite repeated requests to park properly, he continues to disregard the inconvenience he has been causing to us. This lack of consideration for others is particularly annoying.

In addressing this concern, I believe open communication and setting boundaries could be crucial. Personally, I’m contemplating the idea of proposing a neighbourhood meeting where we can all express our concerns in a considerate manner. It’s possible that our neighbour, Ankit, might not fully realise the extent of the inconvenience caused by the loud music. Through this gathering, I hope we can effectively communicate how his actions are affecting the daily lives of everyone in our community, including my own.

While Ankit’s behaviour is indeed bothersome, I believe that through open dialogue and mutual understanding, the situation can be improved. It is vital to remember that living in a community requires respect for others’ peace and comfort.
