World Introvert Day 2024 is celebrated on 2 January every year to recognize and support the introverts who play a major role in shaping the world. Introverts are the most misunderstood personalities. Some people consider them rude and arrogant and some think that they lack knowledge.

History of World Introvert Day 2023

World Introvert Day is on 2 January after Felicitas Heyne, a well-known German psychologist and author penned down a blog on her website iPersonic with the title “Here’s Why We Need a World Introvert Day” on 20 September 2011. She is also the author of the free e-book “Happily Introverted Ever After.”

After the release of her article, the world recognised the need to recognize and support the introvert of the world. She highlighted the challenges faced by introverts in the society. 

Heyne suggested celebrating World Introvert Day on 2 January just after the end of the holiday marathon that begins with Christmas and ends on New Year on 1 January.

Although in 1921, Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung defined the concept of introversion in a psychological context in his famous book “Psychological Types.” He also explained that every human falls in two broad categories i.e. introvert and extrovert.

It is a special day to recognize the efforts of introverts and to spread awareness in society about their indifferent behaviour. Introverts are the most misinterpreted personalities.
