What does the Lakshadweep Scholarship Programme Aim at?

Benefit(s) of the Lakshadweep Scholarship Scheme 1. Students hailing from Lakshadweep aspiring to pursue their senior secondary education will be provided with a grant of Rs. 1200/- per month.
2. Individuals intending to continue their primary level (class 1 to 8) education will be offered INR 600 (monthly). 
3. Students from Lakshadweep enrolled on the island institute will be offered INR 200 for secondary school courses (Class 8 to Class 10). 
4. ‘Bitra Island’ students in Lakshadweep will be provided with a grant of INR 450. 
5. Those who wish to pursue their education at JN College will receive reimbursements of up to INR 750.
6. Such candidates will be provided with INR 50 for daily expenditure.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship program is intended to assist individuals from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in furthering their education. Students interested in applying for the Lakshadweep Scholarship Scheme must meet the following requirements. 

Eligibility 1. Candidates must hold permanent citizenship of Lakshadweep. 
2. The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed 2 lakhs.
3. Applicants must be enrolled in courses ranging from class 1 to PHD level.
