The Directorate of Minority Welfare under the Kerala Government has introduced the Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship, aiming to assist female students from minority communities in pursuing their college-level studies, including UG, PG, and Professional courses. 

This government scholarship provides financial support to enable these students to continue their education. Last Date to Apply

Application Process and Renewal

Eligible female students can apply for this scholarship online through the DMW website. First-time applicants need to register to obtain their scholarship student login credentials. However, those who are renewing their scholarship can directly provide their login details. The application and renewal processes for this scholarship are the same. 

Here are the steps to apply or renew the scholarship:  

1. Visit the official Department of Minority Welfare (DMW) website. 

2. Click on the Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship link. 

3. Click on the “Apply Now” button located on the right side of the screen. 

4. First-time users should complete the registration form. 

5. After filling the Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship form, click “Submit” to complete the registration process. 

6. Upon registration, candidates will receive a registration ID and password. 

7. Use the registration ID, date of birth, and password to obtain the Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship student login credentials. 

8. Select “Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship 2024 Fresh” for first-time applicants, or “Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship Renewal 2024” for those renewing their scholarship. 

9. Fill in the Ch Muhammed Koya scholarship application form with accurate details. 

10. Upload the required documents and submit the application to complete the process. 

11. Finally, take a printout of the registration form and submit it, along with the necessary documents, to the verifying officer at their institution.

Scholarship Objectives

Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship: Course-Wise Amount

Rate of Hostel Stipend

The hostel stipend rate for female students will enable them to receive an accommodation allowance, ensuring they can make use of hostel facilities. This stipend will be given to students annually through a one-time payment system, providing them with INR 13,000 each year.

Benefits

The Ch Muhammed offers various benefits to the students. Successful applicants get to enjoy financial support for the payment of their course fee. The advantages of this scholarship include:

• Financial support for payment of admission or course fees is going to be offered. 
• The Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship safeguards the interests of minority community students. 
• Scholarships are exclusively available to Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis). 
• Financial assistance of INR 5,000 for students pursuing undergraduate degrees or courses is offered. 
• Annual financial assistance of INR 7,000 is provided for students pursuing professional courses. 
• There is an equal distribution of educational opportunities to students. 
• Students are assisted in paying college fees.  

Beneficiary Category

This scholarship is exclusively available to minority female students (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians) pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in general and professional courses. 

Eligibility is determined based on predefined beneficiary categories established by the selection body.

• The Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship is launched by the Directorate of Minority Welfare. 
• Only students who are citizens of Kerala are eligible for this scholarship.

Ch Muhammed Koya Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible for the scholarship, applicants are required to meet some eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are listed below: 

• The student must be a resident of Kerala. 
• Only female applicants are eligible. 
• The candidate must belong to a minority community, such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, or Zoroastrians (Parsis). 
• Attainment of at least 50% marks in the 12th-grade examination is required. 
• The student’s parental annual income should not exceed INR 8,00,000. 
• The applicant must be pursuing studies at a government-recognized college or university.
