What is the ACLAT exam for?

The ACLAT exam is conducted by The Alliance University, Bangalore for admissions into its BA LLB, BBA LLB and LLM programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

What are the eligibility criteria for the ACLAT exam?

Candidates planning to take the ACLAT exam for admission to the BA LLB or BBA LLB programme must have completed their 10+2 examinations from an authorised board with 45% marks in aggregate. For those considering admission in the LLM programme, the candidate should have completed 3 year or 5-year LLB from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India with at least 45% marks.

Is there any relaxation for SC/ST candidates?

While the eligibility criteria remain the same for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, there is a relaxation of 5% for their scores in the 10+2 examination.

Application Process

Can I register for the ACLAT exam offline?

Yes. Candidates interested in taking the ACLAT exam can register for the exam both online and offline. For the online application process, candidates will need to visit the college’s website and apply accordingly. On the other hand, for offline applications, candidates will need to download the application form, fill it out and then send it along with the necessary documents to the university.

What is the application fees for the ACLAT exam?

The application fee for Indian nationals belonging to general and reserved categories is INR 1000. For students belonging to NRI and SAARC National Candidates, the fee is INR 2000 and the fee for foreign nationals is USD 50.

What are the subjects covered in the ACLAT exam?

The ACLAT exam covers five subjects in total which are English, Maths, GK, Reasoning and Legal Aptitude.

How many questions are asked in ACLAT 2023?

There will be an overall 200 questions in the ACLAT exam.

What is the duration of the ACLAT exam?

The ACLAT exam is of two hours.

What is the marking scheme for the ACLAT exam?

There will be 200 questions in the ACLAT exam of one mark each. There is also negative marking in the exam where 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Selection Process

What is the selection process after the ACLAT exam?

Candidates who are giving the entrance exam for LLM will need to attend a personal interview round. Along with the interview, there will also be a counselling session where candidates will need to get their documents verified. This counselling will be held in offline mode.

What are the documents required for ACLAT 2023 counselling?

Candidates attending the ACLAT counselling should carry the ACLAT 2023 admit card, ACLAT 2023 score card and their Class 12 mark sheet with them.
