Who Founded The Delhi Sultanate?

The Delhi Sultanate was founded in 1206 A.D. by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak. The Delhi Sultanate was a Muslim kingdom that ruled over a large part of India for nearly 320 years. It was founded by this powerful ruler who established a new political and cultural order in the Indian subcontinent. Founder and Rulers of Delhi Sultanate

1. Qutub-ud-din Aibak (1206-1210):

• Qutub-ud-din Aibak was a former slave of Muhammad Ghori. He was the first Sultan of Delhi and the founder of the Delhi Sultanate.
• He established his rule in Delhi in 1206 after the death of his master Muhammad Ghori.

2. Iltutmish (1211-1236):

• After the death of Qutb-ud-din Aibak, his slave and son-in-law Iltutmish ascended to the throne and expanded the Delhi Sultanate’s territories.
• He consolidated the Sultanate’s rule and established a stable administration.

3. Razia Sultana (1236-1240):

• Razia Sultana was the only female ruler of the Delhi Sultanate and the first in India’s history.
• She faced opposition from the nobles and ultimately was dethroned after a brief reign.

4. Balban (1266-1287):

• Ghiyas-ud-din Balban was a powerful ruler who strengthened the central authority of the Delhi Sultanate.
• He introduced strict measures to maintain law and order and suppress rebellions.

5. Alauddin Khilji (1296-1316):

• Alauddin Khilji was one of the most powerful and successful rulers of the Delhi Sultanate.
• He led military campaigns to expand the Sultanate’s boundaries and established a strong administrative system.
