Eligibility Criteria for the B.D. Course
Getting into a BB.D. course is not the same everywhere. So we will take a look at eligibility for both India and abroad.
In India
- After 12th grade (10+2): If you just finished school, you can join a 5-year integrated B.D. course. You need to be a Christian, active in church, and known to be sincere in faith.
- After a bachelor’s degree: If you already hold a bachelor’s degree, you join a 4-year B.D. program.
- After a B.Th. degree: You enter starting Year 3, but must pass extra qualifying papers or language prep (Greek/Hebrew), depending on your background.
- For mature candidates: You can take an entrance exam by the Senate of Serampore and join the 4-year B.D. program.
Abroad
- Higher secondary or bachelor’s degree, depending on undergrad/grad program
- English test like IELTS, TOEFL, etc.
- Documents required like transcripts, SOP, recommendation letters, CV, and sometimes entrance exam results.
