1905: Earthquake in Kangra
Kangra which came under the province of Punjab was hit by an earthquake of 7.8 on the Richter scale on April 4 1905. It caused a lot of destruction in Kangra as well as the surrounding areas.

Resulting in the death of 70 people, a building collapsed and fell in Thane.

1913: First Balkan War 
During the First Balkan War, the Greek aviator Emmanuoli became the first pilot of the Hellenic Air Force to die due to his plane crash.

1979: Zulfikar Ali Bhutto 
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was executed on this day. 

1984: Chemical Weapons 
The President of the United States Ronal Reagan called for an international ban on chemical weapons on April 4, 1984. 

1996: Comet Hyakutake 
The USA Asteroid Orbiter imaged the Comet Hyakutake on this day in history. 

2009: NATO
France announced that there would be full participation of its military forces within NATO.

2020: National Day of Mourning 
A National Day of Mourning was held by China for the martyrs who died fighting the novel coronavirus on April 4, 2020.
