Kansas State University (KSU), also known as Kansas State or K-State was established as the state's land-grant college in 1863. It  is a public research university and also the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Kansas. The university was United State's first operational land-grant university. 

With its main campus being situated in Manhattan, it has branch campuses located in Salina and Olathe. While the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus in Salina has the  College of Technology and Aviation, the Olathe Innovation Campus focuses on graduate work in research bioenergy, animal health, plant science, and food safety and security. Kansas State University has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university has been ranked #801-1000 by the prestigious QS and THE World University Rankings 2022.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

A public research university, also known as K-State, Kansas State University has its main campus in Manhattan, Kansas, United States. In a total of Truman, Goldwater, Rhodes, Marshall, and Udall scholars with 124 recipients, Kansas State University is placed at first among all the public universities above since 1986. Kansas has a campus in 3 different cities that are Manhattan, Olathe, Polytechnic. The university has invested $588.2 million in renovation and new construction of academic facilities.

The offerings for Kansas State's academics are administered via nine colleges, including the College of Technology and Aviation in Salina and the College of Veterinary Medicine Kansas State University, and has 65 academic departments distributed amongst nine colleges in the fields of agriculture, architecture, planning and design, art and science, business administration, engineering, human ecology, technology, aviation, and veterinary medicine. The graduate school at Kansas State University offers 50 doctoral programs and 65 master's degree programs across various fields. 

Accomplishments and Alumni 

The university is home to several museums. Some of the famous ones are Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, KSU Historic Costume and Textiles Museum, K-State Insect Zoo, and Chang, Chapman, and Kemper galleries. These museums showcase faculty and student artwork. It also has a list of distinguished alumni members. Some of the notable alumni include - Geraldine L. Richmond, the National Medal of Science laureate (2013), Priestley Medalist (2018), Sam Brownback, former U.S. Senator from Kansas.
