The Dublin City University, founded in 1975 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin, accepted its first students in 1980 and was granted university status by legislation in September 1989. The Church of Ireland College of Education, All Hallows College, Mater Dei Institute of Education, and St Patrick's College were all merged into DCU in September 2016. The Association of MBAs, AACSB, EUA, IUA, and UI are just a few of the well-known organizations that have endorsed this university. Its graduate employment rate is ranked 19th in the world and first in Ireland. DCU's rating has remained consistent, rising from 422nd in 2017 to 439th in 2021, according to QS.

Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses

DCU has five main campuses: the main campus (50 acres), Sports Campus (35 acres), DCU Alpha Innovation Campus (10 acres), St Patrick's Campus in Drumcondra, and All Hallows Campus. The main campus is commonly regarded as being in Glasnevin however it is also near to Whitehall and Ballymun. The DCU Business School, Faculty of Engineering & Computing, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, DCU Connected - Online Education, DCU Institute of Education, and Faculty of Science & Health are the six schools that makeup DCU. Engineering, Education, Biology, Biotechnology, Nursing, Business, and Psychology are the most popular degrees at DCU.

Accomplishments and Alumni

The first purpose-built university nursing school in the country is located at DCU. The University of Limerick was the first in Ireland to offer a European Master of Business Informatics program. All professional Actuarial examinations in Ireland are also held at DCU. It also houses a Prometric Test Center and administers the Graduate Management Admission Test in Ireland. DCU has been listed in two international league tables for young universities. It is Ireland's only university to be included in the QS Top 50. The alumni of this school have accomplished a lot in their lives. Sr. Lorraine Two Hill is the Chief Marketing Officer at Google, Enda Kenny is a politician, and Lorraine Two Hill is the Chief Marketing Officer at Google. Orla Tracey is the Head Administrator of the Loreto Rumbek Mission in Sudan, and she has a long list of accomplishments.
