Study in China: 100 Scholarships are Offered to Moroccan Students to Learn Mandarin

Beijing has announced scholarships to support and spread the learning of Mandarin in Morocco. Moreover, China has become a popular study abroad destination among Moroccan students.

China has announced the grant of 100 scholarships to students from Morocco. The scholarships are provided to students who are interested in learning Mandarin.  Additionally, the Moroccan students will be provided 100 spots at a summer camp in  China. The scholarships are provided by the Chinese government to support and spread the learning of Mandarin. 

Zhao Liji, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, made the scholarship announcement at the reception held at the Confucius Institute of the University Mohammed V of Rabet.

Moreover, the Mohammed V University students will be provided with online equipment to learn Mandarin. Additionally, books about Chinese culture will also be distributed among the students.

Reasons for the Announcement of 100 Scholarships to Students from Morocco

Some of the reasons for the announcement of scholarships to Moroccan students are as follows:

  • China has become a desirable study abroad destination for Moroccan students. The positive development of the Morocco-China relations further facilitates the trend.
  • The Chinese Government made the scholarship program for the academic year 2022-2023 open to Moroccan students in 2022. The scholarships were available for the Master’s and Phd courses at the Beijing Institute of Technology.
  • The Director of the Foreign Universities Scholarships and Admissions Assistant Agency (FUSSAA), Mehadi El Ihsani has stated that his agency has assisted in filling of the 2021 applications for the 500 Moroccan students who wanted to study in China.
  • Additionally, the data provided by FUSAAA shows that Moroccan students have developed interest to study in Chinese universities.

China has become a desirable destination among Moroccan students. On the other hand, China wants to support  the learning of Mandarin in Morocco. Zhao Liji, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, announced 100 scholarships at the reception held in his honor.
