In lieu of this, the High Commission of Canada has urged Indian students to submit their applications early. It ensures that proper review of their applications is done during the processing time of study permits and no grievances are reported later on.

Currently, the study permit processing time after biometrics is seven weeks. Therefore, students are requested to complete their end of the process earliest possible and wait for the consulate’s decision. Also, students must familiarise themselves with the IRCC rules and regulations around student permits before applying.
