13 February: IELTS Writing Task 1 - Write a letter to your high school friend who moved to another country

Q.-  Your high school friend who moved to another country will visit your country for a month. You have arranged a party for them. Write a letter to this friend.

In your letter,

  • give the date and location of the party
  • say who is coming to the party
  • and mention things that they have missed during their stay in another country.

Write at least 150 words.

A- Dear Mike,

It makes me very happy to learn that you’re finally coming to see us. Although I know you enjoy Melbourne, I believe you would be curious to learn what you have missed since leaving it.

Well, the city’s only cricket stadium has been expanded to accommodate more fans. Additionally, Michael, who we used to mock as a brilliant creative writer, has begun a new writing career as a member of the city’s monthly magazine.

The best and most interesting section of this letter is about to begin. To make your stay special and unforgettable, we’re actually preparing to hold a “welcome” party. In addition to the majority of our friends from high school and college, several of our beloved high school professors who had influenced us to become high achievers will also be there.

By the way, the celebration will take place on February 21st at the “Mermaid hotel” on Souvenir Street, directly across the street from the town. We, therefore, hope to see you here!

Best regards,

Emily
