Human activities have negative effects on plant and animal species.

Q- Human activities have negative effects on plant and animal species. Some people think it is too late to do anything about this problem. Others believe that effective measures can be taken to improve this situation. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Ans: Human activities leave a deep impact on both animals and plants. In recent years, this topic has become a topic of concern. The negative effects are significant and far-reaching, but some potential solutions and strategies can be implemented at individual, community, national, and global levels which aim to restore our planet’s biodiversity and ensure its sustainability for future generations.

Those who feel it is too late to take any action think that the detrimental effects of human activities on biodiversity have reached an irreversible stage. This perspective gets its primary force from the alarming rate of loss and extinction of the species. It is directly caused by deforestation, pollution, and climate change. Individuals of this perspective also say that the scale of the problem has become so vast that any attempts to mitigate these changes are futile. They also state that the damage has become irreversible, which paints a grim picture of our planet’s biodiversity.

On the other hand, there are a few individuals who are optimistic about the potential of positive change. They say that with the help of concerted global efforts, it is still possible to stop and reverse some of the damages that have been caused due to human activities. From their perspective, various strategies can be presented which aim to restore biodiversity. Some of the solutions include afforestation, reforestation to replenish lost habitats, and conservation programs especially dedicated to endangered species. In addition to this, initiatives aiming to reduce carbon emissions and promotion of sustainable practices across all sectors should be taken. Proponents of this view put a major emphasis on the task’s difficulty but then it is not insurmountable. They believe that humans have the capacity to rise, challenge, and effect positive change in the environment.

In conclusion, while it is undeniable that human activities have had a significant negative impact on plant and animal species, there are differing viewpoints on whether it is too late to rectify this situation. In my opinion, the task may be challenging, but with collective effort and determination, it is achievable. It should not be forgotten that every action counts and it is everyone’s duty to play their part in preserving the planet’s biodiversity.
