The following are the eligibility requirements that need to be met for you to be eligible to get a post-study work visa for Iceland if you are a non-EU/EEA national:

  • You must have completed your education program or degree in Iceland
  • You must have a residence permit as a student in Iceland for the duration of your course
  • If you are a researcher you must hold a residence permit as a skilled worker with a registered employer in Iceland at your university or research institute to prove your research legitimate
  • You must qualify for the post-study work permit in terms of other rules and regulations depending on the situation 

Documentation Requirements For Iceland Post-Study Work Visa

The non-EU/EEA students who have completed their graduation can get the visa extended for 6 months or get the permit of 6 months in the form of job-seeking duration by applying to the directorate of immigration. The visa needs to be applied for the duration of the date from your graduation to the next six months. To apply for the visa, the following documents will be needed:

  • An application form completed with all the right and relevant details
  • A front and back copy of your passport. The passport must be valid for the duration of 90 days extra from the date of the end of your work permit
