Documentation Requirements for a Luxembourg Schengen Visa 

The general documents you need for a Luxembourg Schengen visa are as follows:

  • Visa application form, passport size photograph, and a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the date of leaving Luxembourg.
  • Copies of Schengen visas of the last 5 years, if applicable
  • Covering letter on a business letterhead from the employer/school. The letter must include the necessary information like the number of approved leaves 
  • Must have sufficient funds to cover your expenses for visa duration. The proof of the same must be presented. For example, 3 months’ bank statements, or 3 months’ salary slips.
  • You need to declare your credit card limit and for that, you need to provide a letter from your bank.
  • Proof of accommodation. This can be a hotel booking. (may not be applicable for all visas)
  • Overseas health insurance is applicable to all Schengen countries. A minimum amount is set for this. That is EUR  30,000.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 need to present their parents’ consent letter that is certified by a public notary. You also need to provide the identity documents of both parents.
  • For a Luxembourg Schengen visa, you do not need to provide proof of transportation. That is, you do not have to show your paid ticket.

Luxembourg Schengen Visa Application Process

The application process for a Luxembourg Schengen visa is as follows. You need to apply for this visa at least 15 days before the date of travel. 

  • First, decide the type of short-term visa you want to apply for
  • Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria and gather the relevant documents. Ensure that all documents are already in the English language or else get them translated into English.
  • Visit the official website of VFS Global, download the application form, and fill out the same. You need to bring your documents and your application from to the visa application centre.
  • An appointment with the visa application centre must be made. After which you can submit your biometric information, and pay the visa fees in person.
  • At this stage, your visa application process is complete. You can check the status of your visa application online by entering your visa application reference number.
  • A decision will be made regarding your visa. After that, you can collect your passport, and other documents you have submitted from the visa office.
