Types of ADHD

There are three types of ADHD which can be categorised as follows:

  • Predominately inattentive presentation: In this kind, the child usually finds trouble focusing, staying on one task, and obeying instructions.
  • Combined presentation: In this type, the child is characterized by excessive activity, always fidgeting and having difficulty controlling impulsive behaviours.
  • Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive presentation: Over here, the child has symptoms of both not paying attention and hyperactivity-impulsivity.

For those unaware, this condition is caused by two reasons: hereditary and environmental. Though a proper explanation is unknown, variations in the structure and function of the brain are thought to be involved.
