1. The Act of Prohibiting Importation of Slaves (1807)

The Act prohibiting the Importation of Slaves was passed by the United States Congress on March 2, 1807. It prohibited the importation of enslaved Africans into the United States after January 1, 1808, the earliest date permitted by the Constitution. Though the act did not end slavery itself, it still marked a significant milestone in turning the American public opinion against the transatlantic slave trade. It set the stage for further abolitionist efforts in the 19th century.

2. Premiere of King Kong (1933)

King Kong premiered in New York City on March 2, 1933. The film about a gigantic gorilla brought to New York was directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. It featured groundbreaking special effects using stop-motion animation models and evocative sound design. King Kong became an enormously influential film that awed audiences and inspired generations of filmmakers with its imaginative storytelling.

3. Cludettle Colvin´s Refusal to Give Up Seat (1955)
