Age Limit
The maximum age limit for the student getting a scholarship should be 40 years and 45 years for SC/ST/OBC and PwD candidates. This will even apply to those people who identify themselves as transgender. Whereas, the maximum age limit for the girls is 30 years. Moreover, she should be a single girl child of her family.
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship
Every candidate is awarded scholarships based on various criteria. However, there is a set of eligibility criteria for basic scholarships. As per the Department of School Education and Literacy, here are the eligibility criteria for all those wanting to get a scholarship.
- A scholarship is awarded to all those students whose parent’s income from all the sources is not more than Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.
- The student must have 55 per cent of marks or equivalent in the Class 8 examination. While for the reserved category (SC/ST), there is a relaxation of 5 per cent.
- The student should be studying in a Government, Government-aided and local body school.
Types of Scholarships
In India, the GOI and other bodies provide its students from India with several types of scholarships. Here are the types of scholarships which are provided to the candidates.
- Scholarships for High school students
There are many types of scholarships which are provided to high school students. These include- Aspire Scholarship Program, Kotak Kanya Scholarship, Saksham Scholarship Program and several others.
