The Xavier Aptitude Test, commonly known as the XAT examination is conducted by the Xavier School of Management, formerly known as Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) to select eligible and qualified students for management education in various specialised programmes.

The examination was conducted on the 8th of January 2023. Subsequently, the result was declared on 28th January 2023. It is pertinent to mention that various business schools in India accept the XAT score for admission into various postgraduate management programmes.

XAT Cut-Off 2023 for XLRI

The cut-off of the XAT exam 2023 was released on 4th February 2023 on the official website. The XAT cut-off for the post-graduate programmes Business Management (BM) and Human Resources Management (HRM) according to courses and gender for the XLRI institute is given below.

The examination pattern of the XAT is unique. The question paper is divided into three parts: verbal ability (VA), decision-making (DM) and question ability (QA). These papers consist of detailed questions according to the specified syllabus. The cut-off for both post-graduate programmes is discussed below:

XAT 2023 Selection Process

The candidates who will meet the XAT cut-off 2023 score, will qualify for the next rounds. The candidates will be shortlisted for group discussion and personal interviews for the PGDM programmes

For this purpose, the cut-off for the HRM and BM programmes are released categories wise respectively. The candidates are called for GP and PI further based on merit. The candidates who qualify for both rounds are emailed an admission letter.

What are the eligibility criteria for the XAT exam 2023?

The applying candidate must have completed their bachelor’s in any discipline of a minimum 3-year duration or its equivalent. Those candidates, who will complete their final examination by 10th June 2023 are also eligible to apply subject to submission of the final mark sheet before at the time of verification and admission. Foreign and NRI candidates can also apply through GMAT/GRE scores. 

What is the duration of the XAT exam in 2023?

The duration of the XAT exam 2023 is 3 hours (180 minutes).

Is there negative marking in XAT exam 2023?

Yes, negative marking is applicable in the XAT exam 2023. 0.25 will be deducted in case of an incorrect response. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions, however, 0.10 marks will be deducted if 8 questions are left unattempted consecutively.
