People decorate their homes with oil lamps, electric lights, and rangolis. It celebrates the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after 14 years and the victory of good over evil. At my house, we clean every corner and buy new clothes. In the evening, we do Lakshmi Puja and then burst crackers. My sister and I help Mom make sweets like gujiya and besan laddoo.
