KMAT Selection Procedure
When the KMAT results are released, the selection procedure of KMAT begins. The first step in the selection process is counselling which consists of group discussion and personal interview. The colleges that are accepting KMAT scores will release cut-off criteria and a merit list of the candidates who match the cut-off.
The next step of the selection procedure is document verification. There are certain documents required by each candidate. This step will verify these documents, confirm their authenticity and finish the process.
KMAT counselling consists of two steps. The main objective of counselling is to select the desired and eligible colleges from all the participating colleges of KMAT. These are the steps of KMAT counselling:
- There are two rounds: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Each candidate gets different schedule for each process.
- The merit list of successful candidates meeting the cutoff criteria for KMAT scores is published by colleges that accept KMAT scores.
- When applying for KMAT in 2023, candidates must choose a preferred participating institute. The criteria for selection in KMAT participating colleges differ, as each institute sets its own unique cutoff.
Release of Merit List
After the scores of KMAT are released, every participating college will release a merit list. The cut-off according to the scores is released by the conducting body. The KMAT merit list will be prepared according to the cut-off. This list has the names of different students who have cleared the exam based on the scores.
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
The next step is the group discussion and personal interview round. The candidate will have to visit the assigned centre for the group discussion and the personal interview. The candidate needs to clear both the GD and PI process.
Release of the Final list
After the GD and PI round, a final merit list is prepared. This list will contain the names of the applicants who have cleared the cut-off as well as both the GD and PI round. These candidates will be further called for the next step for the final admission.
