The IBSAT Examination is a prestigious entrance test for admission of students to various IBS Colleges across the country. The journey of each student begins at the time of the admission process. The ICFAI Business Schools require the students to check the eligibility criteria for the examination before they embark on this journey. Since the application form and the examination is the same for the various courses offered at ICFAI Business Schools, it is essential that the candidates understand the eligibility criteria for each program separately. IBSAT Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for IBSAT Examination are to be checked by the candidate before applying for the examination. The examination authorities approve a candidate’s eligibility after the IBSAT Results are out and the Selection Process has begun. 

The IBSAT eligibility criteria of the 9 ICFAI Colleges are the same. Though the criteria might be different based on the course preferred by the candidate. There are three sets of IBSAT Eligibility Criteria on which the candidate is evaluated are given below. 

IBSAT Academic Qualifications

The candidate is evaluated on Academic Qualifications at first. The various points involved in the academic qualifications section are given below. 

  1. The candidate must have graduated at the time of admission from a recognised university. 
  2. The candidates must have had an examination pattern of 10+2+3 or 10+2+4. 
  3. Marks scored in their final year of graduation must at least be 50%. 
  4. Candidates pursuing graduation are also eligible for admission if they complete all graduation exams before the 31st of May 2023. 
  5. The admissions pertaining to any such student are subject to the submission of the graduation mark sheet as and when it is received but not later than 01 November 2023. 

IBSAT English Proficiency Test

English is a compulsory requirement for admission to MBA, PGDM, or PhD courses in IBS. There are various requirements that the candidates have to meet in order to secure admission, here is a list of those. 

  1. The candidate is required to have completed their entire formal education in English Medium.
  2. The candidates who do not fulfil this criterion are required to give an English proficiency test and submit the scores of the same on or before 31st of March 2023. 
  3. The various English Proficiency tests accepted by IBSAT are: 
  • International English Language Testing System- IELTS
  • National English Language Test- NELT 
  • Test of English as a Foreign LanguageTOEFL

IBSAT Entrance Test Requirement 

Candidates can also gain admission to ICFAI Business Schools through the MBA Entrance test scores other than the IBSAT Exam Scores. Various acceptable scores for admission to IBS are given below. 

  1. CAT or Common Admission Test Scores of the year 2021, 2022 or 2023.
  2. NMAT or NMIMS Management Aptitude Test by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) scores of  2021, 2022 or 2023.
  3. GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test Scores from 2021, 2022 or 2023.
  4. Note that the IBSAT Scores will be only valid from 2023. 

IBSAT 2022-2023 Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

The requirements for 2-year Postgraduate programs like MBA and PGPM are given below. The candidate must fulfil the eligibility to secure admission to the course. The various points of eligibility are given below. 

  1. The candidate must have graduated from a reputed institute in any discipline with at least 50% marks as prescribed by the university. 
  2. The medium of instruction should be English. If not they should submit an English Proficiency Test score. 
  3. The applicant must have t least 15 years of education in the formats mentioned earlier. 
  4. Appearing candidates can give the test but must produce their graduation certificate in due time.

IBSAT 2022- 2023 Eligibility Criteria for PhD

To pursue doctoral degree courses at the ICFAI Business Schools the candidates with the following criteria can give the IBSAT Examination. 

  1. Graduation in any discipline in the English Language with at least 50% marks. 
  2. For PhD in Management, a Postgraduation in Management or related subjects with at least 55% marks in the final examination from a UGC Approved university is required. 
  3. For PhD in Economics, Postgraduation in Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Commerce, Public Administration, Sociology and Mathematics or related courses with 55% marks from a UGC Approved university is required. 
  4. Or be professionally qualified in CWA, CA, CFA or CS with a minimum of 55% marks. 
  5. 17 years of education and English Proficiency requirements also apply. 

FAQs

What are the qualifying marks for IBSAT?

The various IBS Business Schools have different score requirements, IBS Hyedrabas required an IBSAT Score of 72-78, IBS Mumbai required a 70-75 score, IBS Gurgaon required a 62-68 score and IBS Bengaluru required a 65-72 score in 2022. 

How many attempts are allowed for IBSAT Exam?

There is no restriction based on the maximum number of attempts a candidate can apply for the IBSAT Examination. 

Does IBSAT accept CAT scores?

Yes IBSAT accepts CAT Scores. For admission to IBSAT this year, the candidates can also use their CAT Scores from the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.
