DRDO CEPTAM 2023 Examination Pattern

The DRDO CEPTAM 2023 Examination will include two tiers, i.e., Tier-I and Tier-II for each of the three positions. The exam will be conducted online mode with MCQs only.  

Exam Pattern for MTS/STA-B Tier-I

The MTS/STA-B Tier I examination’s duration will be for 90 minutes. Details are given in the table below:

Exam Pattern for ‘A&A’ Tier-II

Exam Pattern for Tech ‘A’ Tier-II

Based on the candidates’ performance in Tier-I, selected candidates will be qualified for Tier-II. Tier II is a performance-based round, where the selected candidates have to showcase their practical skills in the Trade/Discipline.

Syllabus for the Post of Tech ‘A’

There are two sections for the post of Tech ‘A’. The Section A of the question paper comprises questions from

  • General Science

Section B of the question paper comprises questions specific to trade/discipline as per the post-code.

DRDO CEPTAM Eligibility Criteria 2023

There are a set of eligibility criteria that the candidates must meet to be eligible for the DRDO CEPTAM Exam for the year 2023. There are three essential eligibility criteria that a candidate must meet i.e., age, educational qualification, and Nationality. 

Age Limit

The age limit should be kept in mind before applying for the various positions of the DRDO CEPTAM Examination 2023. Candidates applying for the posts of STA-B, Technician ‘A’, and ‘A&A’ must be not less than 18 years of age and more than 28 years of age. However, there are age relaxations for specific categories but the age limit of the candidates belonging to the General categories is fixed.

Civil Engineering Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Computer Science Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science or a 3-year Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology/Information Technology.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. 
Electrical Engineering Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 
Electronics and Instrumentation Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation.
Electronics or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science degree or a 3-year Diploma in Electronics or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Geology Candidates must have completed their full-time Bachelor of Science in Geology from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Instrumentation Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science or a 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Library Science Candidates must be science graduates with a minimum 1-year of Diploma in Library Science.
Mathematics Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Mechanical Engineering Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Metallurgy Candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering.
Photography Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science or a 3-year Diploma in Photography or Cinematography from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Physics Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science in Physics from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.
Psychology Candidates must have completed a full-time Bachelor of Science in Psychology from a UGC-Accredited college/university or equivalent.

A candidate appearing for the DRDO CEPTAM Examination 2023 should be

  • Citizen of India or
  • Citizen of Nepal or
  • Citizen of Bhutan or
  • Any Tibetan refugee (should be settled here before Jan 1st, 1962) or
  • Migrated from Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Vietnam, and Zaire to permanently settle in India.

How to Apply for DRDO  CEPTAM Recruitment 2023 Examination?

The entire process of registration is online and it comprises two stages:

  • Stage I– Registration Process

Step 1: The candidates are required to visit the above-mentioned link.

Step 2: Enter the basic details correctly, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Phone Number, and Email ID.  

Step 3: After successful completion, the candidates will receive a provisional registration number and a password on their registered Email ID and phone number.  

  • Stage II– login to fill up the Application Form

Step 1: Log in with the registered number and password and complete the application process.

Step 2: Fill up the personal details, academic qualifications, and communication and permanent address details carefully.

Step 3: Choose the examination centre nearest to you.

Step 4: Upload a scanned copy of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression.

Application Fee for DRDO CEPTAM 2023

The application fee for the DRDO CEPTAM Recruitment Examination 2023 is INR 100 for General/UR/Open Male Applicants and applicants from the other categories and female candidates from any category are exempted from paying the application fee. The application fee payment submission will be done online through Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net Banking only.  

DRDO CEPTAM Selection Process

The selection process of DRDO CEPTAM for various positions is based on three stages, i.e., tier I, tier II and document verification.

  • The candidates have to qualify for the tier I exam to get shortlisted for the tier II exam. Tier I is an entry-level screening test. Candidates who score better and clear the cut-off are eligible for the tier II exam.
  • Similarly, candidates qualifying for tier II will be called for document verification. 
  • Document verification of provisionally selected candidates will be done by the DRDO itself. Once the documents are successfully verified, you are hired. If any documents are found to be incorrect, the candidates will be considered disqualified.
