- Chalukya Dynasty– In the 10th century, the Chalukya dynasty saw traces of Bhongir Fort. It is because of the strategic importance that this fort holds for settling a whole dynasty. Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI built the Bhuvangiri fort.
- Kakatiya Dynasty- The architectural development of the Bongir fort was played mostly by the Kakatiya dynasty in the 12th and 13th centuries.
- Delhi Sultanate- Alauddin Bahman Shah, was the leader of the Delhi Sultanate and in the 14th century, he took over Bhongir Fort to turn it into a military outpost.
- Qutb Shahi Dynasty– with the end of Bahman’s reign, the Deccan area was majorly taken over by the Qutb Shahi Dynasty which led to the further expansion of this fort.
- Mughal Empire- In India, there is rarely any place untouched by the Mughal Empire, and so is Bhongir Fort. After annexing the Golconda Sultanate, Aurangzeb took over this strategic location and increased its area.
- Nizams of Hyderabad- The Asaf Jahi Dynasty was the successor of the Delhi Sultanate. After defeating them they used this place as their defense infrastructure.
This fort has witnessed the rule of different kinds and conflicts to get a chance to make it their own. One of the primary reasons this fort was fought for was its strategic location for the importance of the military.
