- Excellent mental and physical health
- Should not suffer from joint or bone disease
- Well-developed chest, with a 5 cm extension
- There should be no signs of organ illness.
- There should be no skin conditions.
- Imperfections in urine samples should be avoided. Men can run 2.4 kilometres in 10 minutes, but women need 13.50.
How Can You Join IMA?
These are the different ways you can join the IMA:
- CDSE exam – You must take the CDSE written test, pass the SSB, and pass the medical exams. The examination is given twice a year, in March/April and September/October.
- Students in their last year of a technical graduate course (BE/B Tech) are eligible to take the TGC examination. The training period is one year. Keep an eye out for commercials in May/June and November/December.
- NDA exam – Class XII graduates are eligible to take the NDA exams. If you are selected for the NDA and choose the Army as your preference, you will spend three years training in Pune and one year in Dehradun.

- The first group of IMA trainees included 40 male gentleman cadets (GC). Those cadets were dubbed “Pioneers.”
- Brigadier L.P. Collins was the IMA’s first Commandant.

- The academy sprawls across more than 1400 acres of land.
- In IMA, only male cadets receive training.
