A- The current point of contention is whether or not televisions can serve as more than just a companion. Most people subscribe to the belief that watching TV is the best way to unwind, learn, and absorb information. TV, in my opinion, is such a time waster. In the next paragraphs, this article will examine both sides of a conundrum.
I won’t start by taking into account what some believe to be the root reasons of the phenomena where individuals have severely skewed perceptions and fail to notice the drawbacks of TV. Additionally, there are many different genres of television, including sports, music, theatre, and news. They also have this mindset because they grew up with television as their main source of information and knowledge. Additionally, thanks to TV, people can quickly forget the strain of their busy job lives. According to a recent survey, 80% of Americans have a TV in their house for pleasure.
On the other hand, I truly believe that while TV has many benefits, it is ultimately a huge waste of time. Similar to this, I have this manner of thinking because many people squander their valuable time watching TV. Additionally, we now have cell phones in our hands, which are faster than TV, and are another way we can learn new things or stay up to date. For instance, viewing more television makes people indolent, which negatively affects their economic and social well-being.
In conclusion, it has been shown that TV shows can be both beneficial and detrimental. People should set time limits for viewing television because too much television is bad from a social, moral, and financial standpoint. Children should watch television under parental guidance so that they are not affected by the content.
