According to a report, Indians hold the largest share of international homebuyers in Central Texas. Williamson County is a popular choice for Indian homebuyers accounting for 53% of purchases.

More than half of the international homebuyers in Texas are Indians with green cards, student visas and people on foreign work. 

According to the report of the Austin Board of Realtors, people of Indian origin comprise the largest share (21%) of homebuyers in Texas. Whereas people from Mexico and China comprise 10% and 6% share respectively. 

41% of the 165,000 Asian American individuals are Indians. The number of Indian homebuyers increased can be credited to the surge in the tech sector of Austin. Indian clients prefer either east or south-facing homes, in accordance with their beliefs in Vaastu shastra. 

Williamson County is a popular choice for Indian homebuyers accounting for 53% of purchases followed by Travis County with 24% and 18% outside the city of Austin. Most international buyers from India, 82 per cent, make use of US mortgage financing to buy a property while 12% purchase the property in all cash. 

Central Texas offers a wide range of housing options including apartments, condos, single-family homes etc. Among these 59% of Indian preferred primary residence while 35% chose for rental properties.
