History, Affiliations and Rankings

Established in 1969, Universidad de Monterrey is a private catholic university. The intuition was established by the Daughters of the Immaculate Mary of Guadalupe, the nuns of the Sacred Heart, the Marist Brothers, and the La Salle members, assisted by an association of Catholic citizens. The idea was generated from the advice given by the Second Vatican Council to use educational facilities in favor of teaching the ethics of the catholic doctrine. The University de Monterrey ranks #1001 - 1200 in QS World University Rankings 2022 and #401–600th in Impact Rankings 2021 and #126–150th in Latin America Rankings 2021 in Times Higher Education 2022.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

UDEM have one university campus situated in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and also has four preparatory campuses at San Pedro Campus(USP) situated within the boundaries of the university campus, Valle Alto Campus (UVA) situated in the Estanzuela, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Fundadores Campus (UFU) situated in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and the Obispado Campus (UNO) situated in the Monterey area. In addition classes in the Nursing Programs on Campus, CHRISTUS Health Muguerza Conchita Hospital is provided. Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) provides various subjects taught in Spanish and English including art and design, business (AACSB accredited), social sciences, health sciences, engineering, and international relations.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

Universidad de Monterrey (Udem) MBA has been accredited by AMBA, the Association of MBAs. Prepa UDEM is the only private high school in Mexico to have three accreditations at the high school level: Padrón de Calidad del Sistema Nacional de Educación Media Superior (Quality Register of the National System of High School Education), the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme. The Business School ranks #2 in Mexico and first place in the 4 Palms of Excellence category in the EdUniversal ranking, situated in France. The Monterey city council provides UDEM the Monterrey Medal for Ecological Merit. The notable alumni of the institute are Jorge Patricio Cuellar Benavides, a Management Consultant at Mckinsey, Ana María Rodríguez, Global Client Solutions Manager at LinkedIn, and Gabriela Yarto Weber, Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

The Universidad de Monterrey (Udem) values diversity in all its dimensions. The University has more than 16,000 student enrolments, out of which 9,500 are undergraduates, and more than 700 are postgraduates. They have more than 1,700 students from medical specialties on campus. The male to female ratio is 43:57 at the Universidad de Monterrey (Udem) making it a fairly gender-balanced university.
