Situated in the special commune of Italy, Rome, Sapienza University is a collegiate research university which was founded and issued by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303. Since its foundation, Sapienza has constantly played a significant role in Italian history and has been directly involved in key changes and developments in society, economics, and politics. Sapienza University has created a serene and focused learning environment for its students. It is one of the oldest universities in the world and a top performer in the international university rankings. The university focuses on high-quality education which can be accessible to all. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Sapienza University has numerous campuses in Rome but its main is the Città Universitaria which covers 110 acres of ground near the Roma Tiburtina Station. Canteens, Cafes, and snack points are spread throughout the entire campus. Apart from this, university services also include 54 libraries,18 museums, an Orientation and Tutoring Office in each faculty, Disabled Students Office, and a Public Relations Officer. It is focusing on building a sustainable campus by adopting the latest technological trends to control energy consumption and reduce the use of plastic. Sapienza University believes in the overall development of an individual. It not only focuses on academic activities but also on other spheres of life. Scientific research activity here covers a wide spectrum of regulations, attaining levels of excellence in various areas including Physics, Astrophysics, Humanities, Nanotechnology, and many others. It currently offers over 280 programs (Bachelor’s and Master’s) among which over 35 are taught in English, 200 vocational master's courses and almost 80 PhDs. The courses are developed and taught in such a manner that inculcates interchangeable skills which come in handy for study or employment in the future. It also offers scholarship programs to its premium students. The School of Advanced Studies provides a program of excellence and free tuition for the best students. The university proves to be different in the way it encourages the international exchange and mobility programs: there are over 1,100 incoming and outgoing exchange students per year. 

Accomplishments and Alumni 

In 2018, Sapienza University ranked first globally in Classics and Ancient HIstory. It has tutored numerous prominent alumni including Nobel laureates, notable religious figures, Presidents of the European parliament, and European Commissioners. Some of the alumni are mathematician Benedetto Castelli, biologist Paola S. Timiras, archaeologist Anna Maria Bisi and philosopher Giuseppe Ungaretti.

The university has 112,000 students, 4000 teachers, 2,000 employees, librarians, and technicians, as well as 2,000 administrative staff members in university hospitals. Admission to the university is open to approximately 30,000 students from all over Italy and the world. It promotes a wide range of cultural, social, and sporting enterprises. Libero Professionista, Accenture, Leonardo, Enel Group, Deloitte, EY, Amazon, European Commission and other corporations recruit graduates from Sapienza University.
