History, Affiliations and Rankings
Established in 1887, the institute was established by North Carolina State and was formerly known as the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. North Carolina State University is a public university situated in North Carolina State. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The North Carolina State University campus is enhanced with several experiences. The NCS University campus has about 700 student communities to amuse the students in their areas of interest. The university has about 70 intramural and club sports functions and 23 Division 1 varsity teams. Students also run a daily newspaper, robot-building and DJ are the parts of student life at North Carolina State University. The campus students are encouraged to participate in arts like music, dance, and fine arts performances annually. Bonitz (1893), architect, one of the first to attend and graduate from NCSU, James W. Owens (1968, MT 1970, Ph.D. 1973), Former CEO and Chairman of Caterpillar Inc., Greg Schott (1985, Mechanical Engineering), President & CEO of Mulesoft and Dr. John Townsend (1977, BA), award-winning author and consultant of leadership and organizational coaching.

North Carolina State University values diversity in all its dimensions. The College has more than 36,300 student enrolments out of which about 25,900 are undergraduates and about 10,300 are postgraduates with about 2,300 faculty members on its premises. They have about 4,800 foreign students hailing from all over the world on the campus. The male to female ratio is 52:48 at the North Carolina State University making it a fairly gender-balanced university.
