History, Affiliations and Rankings
The University of King's College, founded in Windsor, Nova Scotia, in 1789, was the first university to be established in English Canada. The college was the first in Canada to receive a charter and is the oldest English-speaking Commonwealth university outside the United Kingdom. Its affiliation is with Christian Reformed Church in North America. According to US News World Rankings 2022, King's University has been ranked as #7 in Best Value Schools, #15 in Top Performers on Social Mobility, #24 in Best Colleges for Veterans, #52 in Regional Universities Sout, and #603 in Nursing. UniRank has also ranked the university at #84 in Canada and #4875 Worldwide.
Infrastructure, Campuses, and Courses
The campus of King’s University College are located in London, the 11th largest city in Canada close to Toronto. The Cardinal Carter Library is located in the heart of the King’s University College and is well-equipped with group study rooms, tables, access labs, wired workspaces, video viewing rooms, a conversation lounge, and an array of online and print resources. The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre is home to some of the most important spots on campus including a 490-seat theater, classrooms, meeting rooms, learning lounge areas, reflection room, games room, and fitness center. The Computer Lab in the Wemple Building at the east end of the cafeteria offers access to resources and printing facilities. King’s University College primarily offers three and four-year degrees in Arts, Social Sciences, Social Work, Social Justice and Peace Studies, Childhood and Social Institutions, Management, and Organizational Studies. The Accounting degree offered by the college is approved by CPA Ontario for entry to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). At the graduate level, the School of Social Work provides a 1 year MSW degree and a 2 year MSW degree. Programs in Management and Organizational Studies cover disciplines such as Accounting, Finance and Administration, Organizational and Human Resources, and Global Commerce. Three and four-year degrees are offered in Social Sciences related to Economics, Finance, History, Criminology, Political Science, Sociology, Thanatology, and Canadian Studies.

King's is renowned as a center of teaching excellence and is one of Canada's first-class undergraduate universities. Students are supported in their academic endeavours by a full range of student development and personal counseling services in an environment that values inclusiveness and diversity. Some of the alumni are John Cummins - A former Member of the Canadian House of Commons, Juggan Kazim- a Pakistani-Canadian actress, David Lee- a Canadian footballer, Greg Colgan- Regional Sports Editor and Brian Joseph Dunn- Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth.
