The Covid-19 pandemic had seen a large decrease in the number of international students that were sent to the US for higher education. However, in the 2021-2022 academic year, these drowning statistics were recovered. 15 US Universities have in totality hosted a rounded estimate of nearly one million overseas students from different nationalities. It was a 4% increase in the count in the US compared to the last academic year during the pandemic.
Among all the nationalities that represented these students, India held the second-largest source with a count of 1,99,182 international students in the US. This made up 21% of the total number of international students in the US in the academic year 2021 to 2022. With the ease in the US Visa process for overseas students from India, it can be expected that more Indian students can gather at these top Universities in the US to get their higher education.
Here are the statistics from the 15 Universities that hosted almost a million international students. The numbers are really overwhelming and it can be expected that the choice of these students would encourage more international students from India to study abroad in the US.
