Established in 1880, the University of Southern California is one of America's oldest private research institutes located in Los Angeles, California, USA. It is the global centre for technology, International Business, and Arts. There were only 10 staff and 53 students in the institute when it started in 1880. The University of Southern California has academic affiliations with the Association of American Universities (AAU), the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). It is also among the sea-grant, space-grant group of US universities. The University has athletic affiliations with NCAA Division I FBS, Pac-12, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). The University of Southern California ranks #112 in QS World University Rankings 2022 and #63 in World University Rankings by Times Higher Education 2022.
