4. Payments under this Scholarship are tax-free when used for costs associated with the awardee’s program of study.

5. Lastly, scholarship recipients must commit to complying with the Scholarship regulations and promptly inform the Scholarships Office of any changes in their enrollment or funding status.

Eligibility Criteria 

Applications are open to all international students who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of New Zealand or Australia. In addition to this criterion, international students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Begin an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Auckland.

2. Be a new full-fee paying international student with an unconditional offer, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student with a conditional offer.

3. Moreover, be enrolled in PGDip, a Master’s program of 120 points or more, or an undergraduate degree with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications.

4. Attain an academic GPE score of 6.0.

5. Enroll as an ‘on-campus’ student.

6. Meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement (e.g., IELTS 6.0 for undergraduate, 6.5 for postgraduate).

7. For this scholarship, they consider students studying online due to COVID-19 border restrictions as “on-campus.”

Eligible Courses include but are not limited to:

Applicants are NOT eligible under the following conditions:

  • Students already enrolled at the University of Auckland.
  • Further, students enrolling in a Research Masters program or a Business Masters program in the Graduate School of Management (GSM).
  • Moreover, undergraduate students from the University of Auckland Foundation Providers (UP Education and Taylors College) and New Zealand secondary-school leavers.
  • Distance education students are not eligible.
