Q. Which politician would you most likely vote for?

a) A candidate who will make it a priority to help the poor.

b) One who lowers taxes and deregulates small businesses.

c) A politician who promises to serve only one term in government.

Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. Do not use memorized examples.

Ans. In the area of politics, the choice of a candidate to support is often a complicated decision which involves weighing various factors. Amongst the various options given above, I will most likely vote for a candidate who will prioritise helping poor people. This preference is based on the belief in social justice, the potential for improving society and the long-term benefits that will come because of poverty reduction.

Supporting a candidate who prioritizes helping poor people will ensure that all members of society are treated equally, regardless of their socio-economic status. They will also be given the opportunity for growth and access to necessities such as food, healthcare, and shelter. Voting for such a candidate will help reduce the wealth gap between the rich and poor, promoting equality. Additionally, poverty often leads to a lack of access to quality education and healthcare, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. By addressing these issues, we can create a more equal society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute positively. For example, providing scholarships to low-income families can empower individuals to break free from the cycle of poverty.

Moreover, the long-term benefits of combating poverty are significant. A society with reduced poverty will also experience lower crime rates, improved public health, and increased economic productivity, benefiting all its members. While lowering taxes and deregulating small businesses can stimulate economic growth, and a one-term politician may bring fresh ideas, the impact of such policies might not extend to society to a greater extent. Therefore, my vote will go to a candidate who prioritizes addressing poverty, as this approach aligns with my values and tackles one of the major issues in society.

To conclude, the choice of a political candidate is based on one’s values and beliefs. In my case, helping the poor is a decisive factor as it promotes social justice, leads to societal improvement, and offers long-term benefits.
