The University of Richmond received a gift of $25 million from Alums and longtime benefactors to support the creation of a centre that will focus on academic support for the students.

The University of Richmond has received its second-largest gift. The UR alums and most notable benefactors Marcus and Carole Weinstein have donated a big amount to the university. The gift will fund an academic support centre for students. The centre will be located in Boatwright Memorial Library.

The Best Gift for Students

With the help of this donation, the University will be able to establish a cutting-edge, collaborative centre. The Carole and Marcus Weinstein Learning Center will co-locate, expand, and integrate services that help students succeed academically.  The centre will also focus on peer tutoring, effective speaking and writing. It will also include advanced quantitative support and other resources at every stage of the student’s educational journey.

The Words from Weinstein

After giving the donation Carole and Marcus Weinstein said that they were excited by the way the University’s Boatwright Library will accommodate the next generation of students. “We remember spending hours poring over the library’s card catalogue to do further research for papers we were writing. The new Learning Center will use the library’s centralized space to offer cutting-edge practices and support new skills students need now and into the future” said Carole and Marcus Weinstein on the official website.
