University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship

The University of Manitoba offers scholarships for graduate, post-graduate and postdoctoral students every year. The scholarship offers two options for the students, scholarship on the basis of academic excellence and entrance scholarship. 

To be eligible for the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship, Students having a minimum of 0.3 GPA can apply for this scholarship. This is mainly for the students who are willing to pursue medical and MBA programs at the University of Manitoba. The scholarship will provide financial assistance for 5 years including master’s and doctoral programs. 

Awards: Students applying for a Master’s Degree can get a scholarship of up to CAD 28,000 for two years and students pursuing a Doctoral degree can get up to CAD 72,000. 

Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) Programme 

The main objective of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship program is to recognize and encourage excellence in education. The scholarship is solely merit-based. International students with valid study permits can apply for the scholarship. Staying consistent in academics plays a crucial role in getting the OGS scholarship. 

Students must enrol on a full-time program and also, and students must be participating in Ontario Schools. This program is for students who have applied for Doctoral and Master’s degrees.  

Awards: The scholarship program covers up to CAD 10,000 for 2 study terms and CAD 15,000 for 3 study terms. 

The University of Waterloo Scholarship 

This University offers one of the best scholarships in Canada. There is no need to submit any application. This is needed only in rare cases. There are four scholarships that are covered under this university. The list of the following scholarships is given below:

• International Student Entrance Scholarship
• President’s Scholarship

Students willing to apply for this scholarship program must have a 90% admission average and he/she must be full-time undergraduate students. The scholarships will cover the tuition fee of the chosen program. 

Awards: The scholarship program will cover up to CAD 10,000. 

UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award 

The UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award is offered by the University of British Columbia. The scholarship is awarded to students who display excellence in academics, and leadership skills and students who are involved in social activities at UBC. 

Students must have a Canadian study permit and must have a strong academic record to be a part of the scholarship program. The scholarship covers the entire tuition fee and living expenses for the undergraduate program. The contribution made by the applicant’s family is subtracted from the scholarship award. 

Awards: The UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award will provide a maximum of CAD 25,000. 

Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship is a non-partisan charity that supports students through various scholarships, mentorships and fellowships. Some universities offering the scholarship are:  

• McGill University
• University of Waterloo 
• Ryerson University 

Students who are applying for scholarships in Canadian universities must be full-time doctoral students. The student should have a Canadian PR. The scholarship is apt for an international student who is pursuing a PhD in Canada. This will cover your travel expenses, tuition fees, research expenses and all the other important academic-related expenses. 

Awards: The scholarship will be awarded to the students with a valuable amount of CAD 20,000. 

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 

The application for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship will be approved through the university student who has enrolled. The best part about this scholarship is that part-time students will be funded equally to full-time students. Students applying for the scholarship must have a first-grade degree in their UG and PG. 

The award will cover tuition fees and all the living expenses of the student. 

Awards: Students will be awarded CAD 50,000. 

University of Alberta Scholarships

To apply for this scholarship, the student must be a full-time applicant to the University of Alberta. The reward amount of the scholarship can cover the living expenses and tuition fees of the students.
