Documents Required

  • Updated bank statement showing the account has at least £2,530 
  • If a candidate belongs to a country that requires to take tuberculosis test then he/ she will have to carry the test results
  • Candidates should keep a blank page in the passport for the visa
  • The candidates are required to provide a certified translation of any documents that are not in English or Welsh

Validity of Youth Mobility Visa UK

The candidates will be given a visa to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years. This visa allows a candidate to enter and leave the UK at any time while the visa is valid. If the candidate becomes 31 after the visa is issued, then they can stay in the UK for as long as their visa is valid. In case the candidate belongs to New Zealand, then they will be able to extend their visa by one year after the two-year period ends. If the candidate is from Australia or Canada, then from 31st January 2024 they will be able to apply to extend their visa by one year.

The cost of a Youth Mobility Visa UK is  £244. Apart from the application fee, students will have to pay a healthcare surcharge of £470 per year. Moreover, a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) charge would be  £19.20.

The Youth Mobility visa extension is possible only for New Zealand nationals.  To receive the visa extension applicants must: be living in the UK, or have a valid YMS visa.
