The Post matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities was launched in 2006 by the Ministry of Minority Affairs under the Prime Minister’s 15-Point Program. Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities Eligibility

This scheme is available for students belonging to minority communities studying in 11th standard or above. Here are all the important eligibility criteria candidates need to have to avail of this MOMA scholarship scheme.

• The candidate/ student must be pursuing his or her 11th standard or above. This means students pursuing 11th, 12th, graduation, post-graduation and higher studies are eligible to apply for this scheme.
• Students applying for this scheme must belong to a minority community as notified by the government of India. These communities include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis/Zoroastrians, Buddhists and Jains.
• Candidates’ annual family income should not be more than INR 2 lakhs. This annual income comprises all the sources of the candidate’s family, that is parents and guardians.
• Candidates applying for this MOMA scholarship should have scored at least 50% marks in their previous class or examination.

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities Objective

The Government of India launched this MOMA scheme considering things like a family’s economic and social background as important. With this scheme, students don’t have to rely on multiple sources to help them with their education and scholarship-related aspects. To apply for this MOMA scheme, follow the steps given below.

• Visit the official website of the National Scheme Portal or  NSP.
• Complete your registration by entering all the required details.
• You have to provide details like your name,  complete address, domicile details, contact number, email address and the type of scholarship you want to apply for.
• After submitting the form, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your contact number. Enter the OTP on the NSP page and complete your registration.
• After this stage, you will be given an application ID and a password to log in to the NSP page for further updates and future reference.

*No changes can be made once you have completed your registration on the NSP.

Documents Required

While applying for any MOMA scholarship scheme, candidates must upload all the required documents. These documents will be proof that candidates applying for these scholarships actually fall under the minorities category. • Proof of minority community certificate by the candidate.
• Domicile certificate for that particular state.
• Self-attested copies of previous educational certificates or examination results.
• Copy of Aadhar Card or Aadhar Enrolment.
• Income certificate issued by the state government or UT authority.
• Proof of the student’s bank account or a joint account with the student’s mother or father.

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities Benefits

These scholarships scheme for minorities will offer financial assistance to deserving students helping them pursue their higher education, from both government and eligible private institutes and notified by the regional or state governments. However, these scholarships do not cover courses with less than 1 year. The scholarships will include financial aid, tuition fees/ course fees and other maintenance allowances.
