The Indian Space Research Organization has started an initiative for school children called the Young Scientist Programme also known as YUva VIgyani KAryakram abbreviated as YUVIKA. It is an initiative to provide basic education in space technology to the students of schools. This program would facilitate the growth and development of students in the field of science and help induce interest in the space sector. ISRO has marked this event as “Catch Them Young”. In Addition, YUVIKA also influences school students belonging to class IX onwards to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Young Scientist Program 2023 ISRO

Students who successfully qualify for class VIII and are promoted to class IX are eligible to apply to the YUVIKA program conducted by ISRO. The YUVIKA 2023 was held from 15 May 2023 to 26 May 2023. This is a 2-week residential program sponsored by ISRO. Students from India’s states and union territories can participate in this program.

YUVIKA was held in all ISRO centres namely:

  1. VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram
  2. SAC, Ahmedabad
  3. URSC, Bengaluru
  4. SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota
  5. NRSC, Hyderabad
  6. IIRS, Dehradun
  7. NE-SAC Shillong

Application Process of YUVIKA

The eligible candidates can fill out the registration form for the Young Scientist Program ISRO with the help of the following guidelines:

  • Visit the official website of ISRO i.e. https://www.isro.gov.in/YUVIKA.html.
  • Click on the registration link for ISRO YUVIKA 2023.
  • A new registration window will pop up.
  • Fill out the application form with relevant information personal and academic.
  • Submit the necessary documents as specified on the website.
  • Then, click on the submit tab and take the printout of the application.
