World Meteorological Day (March 23)

History 

World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is a United Nations-based organization that was established in 1950 to replace the International Meteorological Organization. The operations of the organization began in 1951 to call the attention and coordinate with member nations in the field of operational hydrology, meteorology, and Earth sciences for the security of their population. On 23 March 1961, the first World Meteorological Day was celebrated.
