ADHD can begin in childhood and persist till adulthood. Men and women both can have ADHD although it’s difficult to detect it in women owing to their high hormonal fluctuation and vulnerability. Women suffering from ADHD often tend to hide their emotions. There are different types of AHDH in adults each associated with inattention, impulsivity, or a combination of both these behaviours. What is ADHD?

Before exploring types of ADHD, it is very important to have a clear idea about ADHD. It is a psychological condition in which the affected person feels difficulty paying attention and sometimes responds in a hyperactive or impulsive way.

  2. Predominantly Inattentive type ADHD
  3. Combined type ADHD

Inattentive ADHD Type

If you are suffering from inattentive ADHD then you will be unable to pay attention to things happening in your surroundings. The affected person might get lost or zone out of any conversation.

Mentioned below are some of the symptoms of inattentive ADHD:

  1. Poor listening skills
  2. Miss out on important points of discussion
  3. Misplace things
  4. Zone out
  5. Difficulty in following instructions

Hyperactive ADHD Type

This type of ADHD is different, as in this case, the affected person will react in an impulsive or hyperactive manner.

Mentioned below are some of the symptoms of hyperactive ADHD:

  1. Talking frequently
  2. Restlessness
  3. Unable to sit still
  4. Impatience
  5. Fidgeting hands or feet continuously

Combined ADHD type

In this case, the person will suffer from symptoms of both the other categories i.e. hyperactive and inattention ADHD type and react in hyperactive, impulsive as well as unattentive ways.
